Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physical and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems. It has 9 Laboratories and a workshop for imparting practical training to the students. These Laboratories and Workshop will help students to undertake project works, design and build machines and equipments. Our department focus on overall development of the students, imparting soft skills through live projects, association activities, industrial visits, seminars, group discussions, etc.,

Workshops:

There are 6 different units in Workshop, which will enable the students gain practical experience in various trades and workshop practices. An engineer should have not only theoretical exposure but also experience so that he would be in a enviable position as a practicing engineer. The Workshop caters to following trades: Carpentry, Foundry, Fitting, Sheet Metal, Welding.

PLACEMENT CELL

The aim of the placement cell is to impart training right from first year of study and make every student employed in the best industries of their choice. The Department is headed by placement head with wide range of knowledge and experience.

To supplement the theoretical knowledge gained through classroom study, students are taught on all aspects of practical applications by the experts drawn from various industries and academia. Interactive sessions on core areas chaired by Job providers are also arranged. The well-defined agreement with top notch corporate and software companies, help to conduct interviews in the college all through the years.

In this direction, students are pre-tested with different set of questions at appropriate intervals. This process makes the students to be thorough with the subjects they have studied right from their first year and keeps them ready to face interviews. The salient feature of this exercise is the interaction among the students by means of question-answer session designed by themselves.

Through specialized training, the students acquaint themselves with the knowledge and skills required to excel. The consistent placement record of the institutions makes us feel proud and encourage the students to persue their studies in the institutions.

Also, career guidance sessions, Presentation skills, mock interviews, workshops, seminars and group discussion seminars are conducted for the benefit of students. The polytechnic has a full-fledged placement cell, which arranges campus interviews and / or provides facilities to students to attend interviews at the industries. The Polytechnic is widening its base to meet the human resource needs of the industries.
